There is a teacher, the most interesting
And curious man in Lake Mary Prep, wears
Suitable suits, like a sculpture when
He is standing with no facial expression
A cold, but actually flame man, often
Joking his studentsm. He uses variable
ways to teach, never let us feel boring.
He can answer all questions whatever
students ask. He is a teacher, but we
like treating him as a friend. To tell
the truth, he should lose weight as soon
as possible.

13th picture

My 13^th picture in my phone was taken half a year ago about one of my friends. I stay at his house some weekends because his parents are friends of my parents. It makes me feel happier and more comfortable in his house than in the dorm because I can have Chinese food and like in my own house in China. We often chat together and do homework together. Because it was half a year ago when I took that picture, I can’t remember what we were exactly talking about. “Hey! Don’t move! I want to take a picture of you.” And he made a face and pose that were funny and absurd. Staying at his house makes me feel wonderful and I don’t need to worry about anything such like study. His parents make Chinese food for us so I don’t miss my hometown’s food very much.

I totally disagree with some people who support all girls schools and all boys schools. Although these kinds of schools are good for students to concentrate on studying, there are also more disadvantages.

There are some official opinions about the disadvantages about these kinds of schools. First of all, it’s not very easy to work if boys work with boys and girls work with girls. Things will be easier if they work together because boys and girls have their own advantages. Boys may stronger than girls and girls may more careful than boys. It’s the best to let them complement their advantages.

Second, it may increase family problems and the probability of divorce for boys who study in all boys schools after they grow up. Some of them have problems about how to have relationships with girls. The divorce rate of boys who study in normal schools is about 28% when they are 42; however, the divorce rate for boys who study in all boys schools is almost 37%, which is pretty high.

Also, students in all girls schools and all boys schools may blind compare without the other gender’s reference.

I don’t like all girls schools or all boys schools. It’s really a good time to make friends during high schools, no matter with boys or girls. I think students can start to know the society during high school, in case we are hurt when we face problems. It’s good for us that we don’t have as many worries as adults. They will also feel boring.

On the other hand, it’s hard to communication with some people because these people are unsocial so people who have the same gender with these people don’t want to speak to them. In other words, girls may hate some girls, and boys may hate some boys. That’s why things will be easier in normal schools.

In summary, I disagree with those schools that are all girls schools and all boys schools and I prefer studying in normal schools.

Journal 2

The Chinese song “stubborn” by a Taiwan band, which named Mayday that is my favorite band, inspires me a lot. It not only has a beautiful melody but also has a wonderful lyrics that encourages people do not give up any time, no matter who you are.

There are so many lyrics in this song that inspires me when I’m down, such as “if I compromise to myself, if I lie to myself, even if you can forgive me, I can’t forgive myself.” I know I have to be responsible for myself. Even I did something wrong, I can’t regret.

“It’s more suitable for flying when the direction is against the wind” is another sentence inspires me. When I face problems, I can always remind this sentence. I know all of the people in this world face all kinds of problems, not only me, so I don’t complain anymore, and start working again, and that’ll make me grow stronger.

“Is the next station the heaven? Even if I’m disappointed, I can’t desperate.” This sentence tells me I can’t give up anytime, no matter how many times I fail and I will be successful as long as I persistent all the time.

The reason the song touched millions and millions of people’s hearts, is the lyricist of the song, who is the singer in this band, was facing a big problem and challenge at that time. The paparazzi found that his family was underworld and had a strong power in Taiwan. So many people started against him and he decided to write this song to express his thoughts. When I’m down and have difficult problems, I always listen to this song to encourage myself and this helps me a lot.

Journal 1

I took SAT test last Saturday. Although it was my second time to take it, I still felt nervous because that would influence If I could go to good university or not. “Ling”, ”ling”, my alarm rang, it was time to get up. That was one of the worst time I have ever had. I was reluctant to take a shower and ready to take the test. Everyone had a bad face and no one spoke anything. I could feel that there was a murderous look in the air. They were nervous too and didn’t want to take the test either. I got my passport and ready to die.

It was a cloudy day that seemed like the sky was crying for me.

“Hey, it’s you!” I saw some other students in my school when I got the test center.

“Yes! Good to see you!” one of them answered.

“Me too. Did you study for the test?” I asked.

“Yes. I did last night and it was not bad actually.”

It took a long time to get into the room and was nearly 9am when the test began. The writing question was not bad; however, when I watched the clock, 20 minutes had past but I still had a lot to write. “Crab!” I thought. I could only write a conclusion immediately. Luckily, my extra test was math and that made me feel better. However, because I didn’t eat anything for breakfast, I started to feel dizzy before the seventh section began, there were still four sections waiting for me. I could see that four sections were laughing at me and I didn’t even know how I spent that one and a half hour now.

SAT is so hard that American students feel that hard too. However, if I want to attend American universities, I have to experience this. And everyone who wants to attend American universities has to take SAT too. My test condition is better than those Chinese students who have to take plane to Hong Kong, and take the test in the testing rooms that are big enough that we can’t even see the edge. So all I can do is study harder and harder and get into a good university.

The author uses imagery, which includes five senses, to let the article more convincing and easy to understand, especially sight.

First of all, the rising groundwater exacerbates the problem, “ailanthus roots heave up sidewalks and split sewers in New York”. Because of “there is little soil to absorb it, or vegetation to transpire it, and buildings block the sunlight that could evaporate it”. Pumps would be stilled with the power off and the streets would crater. The author uses sight to let us have a strong imagery that the streets and cities will crater if there is al lot of underwater. He illustrates the reason clearly and the article is easy for us to understand.

Second, the author uses sight to describe New York’s architecture. “A dry lightning strike, igniting decades of uncut, the knee-high Central Park grass, which tons of leaf litter native oaks and maples in city parks, will spread flames through town”. The author uses sight and many nouns, such as lightning, grass, and flame to let us imagery easy to picture a real scene.

The author also uses touch to imagery. “Touching down so lightly that they detonate no land mines” is one of the examples. It let people understand clearly and tells us that the red-crowned cranes don’t detonate land mines.

The author uses much imagery like sight, listen, touch, smell and taste, to let readers understand the article easily.

college essay

Everyone needs the sense of social responsibility. As a teenager grew up in China, it’s really a good time to develop social responsibility right now. So, I always consider doing something for other people who need help and it really teaches me a lot.

Last summer holiday, I got a chance to be a volunteer teaching autistic children in an autistic school in Beijing and I participated without hesitation. The manager of the school was a lady who had an eight year old autistic son. When I got into the school, I saw all the autistic students were ready for classes. My job was to help the teacher teach students to complete physical activities that seemed relatively easy for normal people; however, these tasks, such as jumping and pushing balls, were so much harder for those students. Sometimes it would take them a couple of months to learn a new action. That was really a hard job because when I spoke to them, they could not listen to me and could not concentrate on one thing. So I had to speak to them again and again and be patient.

A boy, who was only six years old, made an impression on me. There wasn’t an elementary school that wanted to accept him because he was autistic. He seemed very happy all the time. When I talked to him, he was laughing and looking all around the classroom. When he was doing the action of pushing balls, his teacher told me that he had been learning this for nearly three months. He was doing a great job. Although it was hard for him, he was trying best to complete his actions and he never gave up.

Helping people is happiness. When those students learned new skills, I felt really warm and happy. As a healthy person living in the world, I will keep trying my best to help people, to develop my social responsibility, no matter whether it is in college or later. These autistic students inspired me so that I will not give up anymore when I face problems. I hope those kids, who will always suffer from autism, will have splendid, happy lives.
